Oracle APEX Developer

The Monarch Collective is seeking to expand our Oracle APEX consulting team. We are looking for individuals to join a thriving team renowned for its expertise in Oracle APEX development and offering significant opportunities for professional growth. The successful candidate will be instrumental in creating intuitive, efficient, and scalable solutions that leverage the full capabilities of the Oracle database environment.

This is a fully remote position, but applicants must reside in the Republic of Ireland to align with our local delivery and consulting model.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities include collaborating closely with project managers and stakeholders to define project requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications, and ensuring the highest standards of application performance and security.

  • Application Development: Build and maintain Oracle APEX applications, ensuring they meet our high standards of functionality and user experience.
  • Database Management: Create and manage Oracle database objects, contributing to the efficiency and security of our data architecture.
  • Schema Design and Implementation: Take part in designing database schemas and developing stored procedures and functions to optimize database operations.
  • Project Lifecycle Support: Provide comprehensive support for Oracle APEX projects throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring smooth progress and successful outcomes.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights and contributing to the success of our development projects through effective collaboration.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

As a consultant at Monarch, you will directly interact with clients and with our APEX team across a variety of projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Communication Proficiency: Demonstrate effective English written and verbal communication skills, facilitating clear and constructive collaboration.
  • Technical Expertise: Bring 5+ years of experience with Oracle APEX and PL/SQL, along with a good working knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, and CSS.
  • Advanced Oracle APEX Skills: Have experience with APEX Authorization, Authentication, security measures, as well as with interactive grids and reports.
  • Database Skills: Show proficiency in working with Cursors, Triggers, collections, and database normalization to ensure efficient and secure data handling.
  • Team Collaboration: Be a true collaborator and team player, ready to contribute to our collective achievements with a positive attitude.

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Prior consulting experience or experience supporting multiple business environments.
  • Experience with code version control to maintain the integrity and versioning of our applications.
  • Certification as an Oracle APEX developer, showcasing your advanced skills and commitment to excellence.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, enhancing our team’s flexibility and efficiency in project management
  • Experience modernizing or extending legacy Oracle Forms applications.
